Larry Mapes Obituary
Larry Doyle Mapes, born June 7, 1939, in McComb, at the age of 85, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 28, 2025. He was preceded in death by his mother, Monna Pearl Mapes; father, Myron Guy Mapes; and sisters, Doris Mapes (Clark), Margerie Mapes (Oglesbee), Diane Mapes (Harden), and Marlene Mapes (Harden). He married the love of his life, Barbara Ann (Rader) Mapes in 1965, and she preceded him in death in 1976.
He is survived by his son, Jerry M. Mapes; daughter-in-law, Chanda Mapes; and granddaughters, Antonia Pearl Mapes and Jaden Elizabeth Mapes.
Larry served in the United States Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis, where he learned to skydive with over 400 jumps. He also enjoyed motocross racing until the age of 60, when he switched his interests to golf, which he played almost every day for over 20 years. He truly enjoyed life.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2025, at Hanneman Funeral Home, 370 South Park Dr, McComb, Ohio, 45858. Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of funeral at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at McComb Union Cemetery.
Memorial contribu-tions in both Barbara and Larry's memory to Armes Cancer Center, 15990 Medical Drive South, Findlay, Ohio, 45840.

Ive known Larry along time. He was funny and a good guy. He used to spend time at our house when i was little hanging with my brothers.
