Lana L. Shoop

Lana L. Shoop, 80, of Findlay and formerly of McComb, went to be with her Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay. She was born Sept. 7, 1941, in Tiffin, the daughter of the late Oliver and Opal (Thomas) Flanders. On Oct. 1, 1961, she married Alvin Shoop, who preceded her in death Dec. 26, 2009.

Survivors include her children, Vickie Shoop, Alan (Debbie) Shoop, and Jodi (Steve) Cobb, all of McComb; sister-in-law, who was like a sister to her, Mrs. Sue Flanders of Findlay; grandchildren, Aaron (Ann), Ian, Morgan (Austin) Chas, Alexis, Jessika, Jami (Eli), Eli, and Clay; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Bella. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; brother, DeWayne Flanders; and a great-grandson.

Lana was formerly employed at Conines Country Market as a baker, was a legal secretary for 20 years, was an interpreter at The University of Findlay, Millstream, and Whirlpool for the hearing impaired, and retired as a dietary technician from Blanchard Valley Hospital. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, McComb, enjoyed a glass of wine at Hillside Wine Shop in Gilboa, going to Amish country, and her grandchildren's functions. She will be remembered as a thoughtful and generous mother, being a proud farmer's wife, making the best strawberry pies, and her cake decorating.
