Kevin James Young

Kevin J. Young, 58, of Manistique, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital in Manistique after a battle with cancer.

Kevin was born June 11, 1964, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Robert Eugene and Alice Elsie (Dice) Young of Leipsic.

He is survived by the love of 40 years, Angela Ann Lerma, who he married in 1987 and would have celebrated 36 years married to May 2; son, Ryan James Young (Brandy) of Manistique, Michigan; granddaughters, Myra, Alice, Natalie Young; daughter, Mercedes Young (Andrew); granddaughter, Olive of Manistique, Michigan; siblings, Mitchell A. (Carol) Young of Youngstown, Michael B. (Patty) of Preston, Iowa, Mark Young (Tammie) of Findlay, and Sister MaryLou Arquette of Jackson, Michigan; and many nieces and nephews.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents; son, George of Petosky, Michigan, who died in March, 2022; and brother, Carl Young.

Kevin was a lover of Michigan football, cheering on the Wolverines. He loved spending time with his family, camping, fishing, concerts, and his pets Sybil and Dora and the late Winkie and Marley. He was also an avid collector of Detroit Tigers memorabilia, coins, and baseball cards.

Kevin worked for Continental Cable, Time Warner, and Spectrum for over 30 years.

Kevin's services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Manistique Bible Church, Manistique, MI.
