Kevin Nau

Kevin Ray Nau of New Carlisle passed away from terminal cancer Thursday, Aug. 9, 2024, at Ohio's Hospice of Dayton.

He was born Dec. 30, 1961, in Tiffin, to John and Martha Nau. Kevin was raised with his three brothers and sister on a family farm near Arcadia.

Kevin is survived by his wife of 36 years, Julie Nau; their three children, Michelle Nau, Joe (Nina) Nau, and Haley Nau (Matt Wilson); father, John Nau; brothers, Gary Nau and Tom (Rita) Nau; sister, Linda Coffey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Nau.

Kevin will be forever remembered for so many things like his incredible work ethic, ability to build and fix just about anything, artistic skills with masonry, carpentry, landscaping, and pen and ink drawings, intellect and skills as an engineer, and so much more. Kevin's life was enriched by many hobbies including hiking and camping with his family at National Parks, rebuilding antique machinery, mushroom hunting with his best buddy Greg Helentjaris, and sharing a daily pre-dinner beer with his dog, Auggie, and neighbors, Bill and Beth Staas.

Professionally, Kevin retired in 2017 from Trimble in Huber Heights where he worked as a Mechanical Engineer. Kevin spent his retirement years volunteering with Clark County Park District, specifically the Mad River Gorge stairs project, and with assisting the building of boardwalks at several Greene County Parks. In addition, Kevin spent countless hours restoring his 1840s farmhouse and bank barn, building a pond, and creating a nature sanctuary on his seven-acre property.

Kevin's celebration of life to honor his life will be 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024, at his home at 1439 Lammes Lane, New Carlisle.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be submitted to Ohio's Hospice of Dayton in Kevin's name.
