Kenneth L. Jones

Kenneth L. "Ken" Jones, 87, of Deshler, passed away at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2023, at Toledo Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 12, 1936, in McComb, to Howard T. and Florence G. (Latta) Jones. He married Phyllis Wagner on Sept. 29, 1956, and she preceded him in death Dec. 9, 2017.

Ken's survivors include four children, Debra (Mark) Westrick of New Bavaria, Greg (Lonna) Jones of Gilboa, Dr. Cynthia Queisser of Deshler, and Dennis (Irene) Jones of McComb; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Marvin (Eileen) Jones of Findlay, Gary (Josephine) Jones of Leipsic, and Jeff (Jan) Jones of Seville.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Kayla Jones; two brothers, Paul and James Jones; and three sisters, Kathleen, Dorothy, and Joyce Jones.

Ken was a 1954 graduate of Leipsic High School and veteran of U.S. Naval Reserves and Army, serving during the Korean War. He retired from Philips in Ottawa as a journeyman electrician and was a member of Quarter Century Club and IBEW Union President for many years. Kenneth was a member of Hoytville United Methodist Church and Leipsic American Legion. He enjoyed traveling to Florida for the winters, loved fishing and camping, but above all, family was very important to him.

Ken's funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023, at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic, with Pastor Jen Miller and the Rev. Hugh Bowland officiating. Burial will follow at McComb Union Cemetery with military rites by Leipsic American Legion and VFW. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
