Kenneth Wayne Jones, age 78, of Hinckley, IL passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022 at Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born on July 20, 1944 in Golconda, IL the son of Roy and Gertrude (Smock) Jones.
Kenneth was united in marriage on January 6, 1964 to the former Leila Benson and they spent the next 58 year happily together. He was employed for many years as a mechanic at Owen Kane Ford, Voss Motor Sales, and Sparks Engine Repair. After retirement Kenneth enjoyed working on small engine repair. He also was an avid fisherman. Kenneth was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Leila Jones of Hinckley, IL; his son, Kent Jones of Plano, IL; his granddaughters, Merranda Jones and Madeline Jones, both of Florida; two sisters; and several nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Gertrude Jones; his son, Kevin Jones; and eight siblings.
As per his wishes, Kenneth's ashes will be scattered over his favorite lake in his hometown in southern Illinois at a later date.
