Kenneth G. Hermann, age 84 of Oswego, IL died on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. He was born on September 13, 1938. Ken retired as a Colonel in the United States Air Force after 20 years including a combat tour in Vietnam. After retiring he served as the Chief Executive Officer of St. Joseph's Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska before becoming a Vice President of the Joint Commission overseeing Hospital Accreditation across the nation. Ken was an active member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. He was, however, proudest of nearly 60 years of a loving marriage and his four children.
Ken is survived by his loving wife, Camilla; daughter Kimberly Dumond of Buxton, ME; three sons, Brian (Jeanne) Hermann of Millersville, MD, Gary (Marcie) Hermann of Lebanon, IL, and Mark Hermann of Aurora, IL; four sisters Dianne Puzycki, Marilyn Ponzio, and Mary Feniolo of New Haven, CT and Sr. Carole Hermann of Columbus, OH; four grandchildren and two great grandsons.
He was preceded by his father Gustave Hermann in 1959 and his mother Gertrude Greene in 1951.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 26, 2023, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY 1801 S. Douglas Road Oswego, IL 60543. Family and friends can meet directly at St. Anne's Catholic Church 551 Boulder Hill Pass Oswego, IL on Monday, March 27, 2023 where a Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Risen Lord Cemetery Oswego, where full military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the United States Air Force.
