Kay Kose Obituary

Kay Annette Kose

Kay Annette Kose, 76, of Findlay, passed away Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, at Birchaven Village.

She was born May 17, 1946, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Theodore "Ted" and Mary (Niday) Kohler. Kay graduated from Pickerington High School in 1964 where she served as co-valedictorian with her high school sweetheart, William H. Kose. Kay graduated from The Ohio State University in 1968 with a degree in Home Economics Education. Three days after graduation, she and Bill married June 9, 1968.

Kay began her career as a home economics teacher until the birth of their first child. At this time, she began her most important job of raising their four children, Brad (Jessica Lanius) Kose, Doug (Elizabeth Manley) Kose, Kristi Kose, and Jon (Sarah) Kose. Kay's Christian values were at the root of their family. She was the No. 1 fan of every sport they played (even if she didn't necessarily care for the sport). She was present at every event in which the kids were involved. She stood beside Dr. Kose in his many roles within the medical field.

She and two of her friends founded the Swan House Tea Room in 1999. Kay was a member of College First Church of God and previous member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years and was a leader of Bible Study Fellowship (BSF). She enjoyed quilting and sewing, many family vacations, and most of all, her children and grandchildren, Nate, Anabel, Adeline, Emerson, and Eliot.

Kay also leaves behind her brother, Lee Kohler. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; and brother, Ronnie Kohler.

Kay's funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022, at College First Church of God with Pastors William Reist, Kimberly Reese, and David Welker officiating. A luncheon celebrating her life and a time for sharing memories of Kay will follow at the church. The family encourages everyone in attendance to stay and share.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2022, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME and 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the church. Private burial will be in Glenford, Ohio.

Memorials can be directed to College First Church of God, Bridge Hospice, or Alzheimer's Association of Northwest Ohio. Online condolences can be shared with the family by visiting coldrencrates.com.

Bill and family, I love the picture of Kay you used in her announcement. Her big smile was wonderful. I remember sharing new of children and antique frames and wardrobes. Of course we shared the same profession, home economic teachers. The best to you all, Kay is at peace.
