Kathryn Lasley Obituary

Kathryn "Kathy" Lasley

Kathryn "Kathy" Lasley, 74, of Carey, passed away Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, at her sister's home in Kokomo, Indiana.

Kathy was born Nov. 17, 1948, in Fostoria, the second daughter of Frank and Ruth (Fry) Muir. She has two daughters, Laurie (Nick) Scheck of Upper Sandusky and Rebecca (Troy) Barhite of Archbold.

She is also survived by her companion and best friend, Douglas Passet; six grandchildren, Amanda Butler, Elyse (Steven) Gehret, and Evan (Abby) Scheck, all of Findlay, and Christian (Sarah) Barhite, Alicia Barhite, and Spencer Barhite, all of Archbold; three great-grandchildren, Piper, Lainey, and Everett, and one due in May; three sisters, Carol Irick of Findlay, Deborah Zent of Kokomo, Indiana, and Karen (David) Hawk of Kansas, Ohio; brother, James (Suzie) Muir of Findlay; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews that she enjoyed.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister; and two brothers-in-law, Don Zent and Don Irick.

Kathy was a 1966 graduate of Carey High School. She was a woman of faith and attended Upper Room Church of God, Findlay.

Known for her hard work ethic and dependability, Kathy worked for 22 years at Millington Plastics, Upper Sandusky. She then worked for 17 years at Whirlpool, Findlay, before she retired. Wanting to stay active and involved with people in retirement, she took a position at Wyandot County Council on Aging. Kathy enjoyed her family, walking, spending time with Douglas, cooking, baking, reading, and her annual sisters' trip.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey.

Kathy's funeral will be 12 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor McBeath officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wyandot County, Wyandot County Council on Aging, or Dorcas Carey Public Library in care of the funeral home.
