Karen Sue Griffin

Karen Sue Griffin, 75, of Carey and formerly of Fostoria, died Sunday, May 7, 2023, at Ohio State University Hospital.

She was born June 6, 1947, in Akron, to Earl and Opal (Crew) Broadwater. She married Ronald L. Griffin on May 7, 1967, and he survives.

Karen is also survived by her children, Brenda (Dennis) Rowlison of Oregon, Jim Griffin of Bowling Green, Scott (Annette "Sarge") Griffin of Fostoria, Brad Griffin of Findlay, and Bruce Griffin of Upper Sandusky, 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Mike (Gloria) Broadwater of Fostoria; and sister, Sharon (Roger) Thomas of Findlay. Karen and Ron helped raise and guide Angela (Kammeyer) Crippen of Swanton and Zach Kammeyer of Fostoria.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Earl L. Broadwater and Larry Broadwater.

Karen was a 1966 graduate of Carey High School. She and her husband owned and operator RK We Clean for 23 years. Karen was a life-time active member of Ridge Chapel Church of the Nazarene, where she served on the church board, was past President of the missionaries, and a Sunday school teacher.

For hobbies, she enjoyed sewing, cooking, and baking and was known as the supplier of cookies, cakes, and pies. Karen was a powerhouse who was brave and courageous. She never knew a stranger and was giving to anyone in need. Karen was the family jokester which fit her loving and caring personality. When it came to her children, she was their biggest cheerleader and greatest supporter. Her and Ron shared a special love and she will be forever missed.

Karen's funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Ridge Chapel Church of the Nazarene, Carey, with Pastors Waitman Hager and David Flack officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens, Arcadia. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2023, at Bringman Clark Funeral Home and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Memorial contributions can be made to Nazarene World Mission Society in care of Bringman Clark Funeral Home, 226 E. Wyandot Ave., Upper Sandusky, Ohio, 43351.
