John Masterson Obituary
John E. Masterson, 82 of Findlay, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2025, in Findlay. He was born in Defiance, to the late Richard and Ida Wilma Masterson January 17, 1943. John married Barbara Kosch, and they enjoyed 55 years together; she survives in Findlay along with three children, David Masterson of Findlay, Christine (Robert) Straley of Custar, and Robert (Lisa) Masterson of Glencoe, Illinois. He is also survived by two brothers, David Masterson of Warsaw, Indiana, and Peter Masterson of Defiance; and four grandchildren, Jonathon, Hannah, Joshua, and Declan Spinner.
John was the owner and operator of Masterson's ACE Hardware in Findlay for 49 years. He was an avid investor and loved watching and learning about the stock market, reading many books on investing. John also enjoyed reading about history and biographies. He enjoyed playing chess, cooking, baking, and the Christmas holiday. John was also an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2025, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2025, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made in memory of John to Trinity Episcopal Church, Findlay.
