John Dean Obituary
John Arthur Dean, 76, of Sevierville, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025. John grew up in Wharton, Ohio and in 1968 was drafted into the United States Army. He later retired and moved to the Great Smoky Mountains, where he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was an active member of Thrive Church. John was known for his love for his country and his patriotism.
John is preceded in death by his wife, Susan Dean; parents, Dwight and Genevieve Dean; brothers, Gene Dean and Pearl (Diz) Dean; and sister, Ioma (Pudge) Kalb.
He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Dean (Jim King) and Jessica (Shane) Canterbury; grandchildren, Jerrika Born, Jorden Born, Kelly John Lambert, Zachary Lambert, and Margaret Lambert.
The family will receive friends from 11-1 p.m. Monday, January 13, 2025, at Atchley Funeral Home in Sevierville. Following the visitation family and friends will leave in procession for a graveside service at Middle Creek Cemetery in Pigeon Forge, TN. Pastor Philip Morris will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Thrive Church in memory of John.
