Jerry was an outstanding man. As a fellow classmate, I Cal Saltzman (150 lbs) had the privilege of aways playing "across" from Jerry (200 lbs) while at football practice. I seldom was able to stop him, but every 50th or so times Jerry would let his guard down and I would stop him. Of course, the Coach would chew him out and for the next 48 times, I would suffer but it was worth it. Even after all of this, Jerry and I remained friends thought out our lives. He was a outstanding man, his community, and I know his family miss him. I will always have memories of Jerry and all of my other classmates as many of us were fortunate enough to spend 12 years in the same classroom and usually within a few feet of each other as we were always seated in alphabetic order.

Jerrold was good friend and a neighbor of mine. We went to the same church growing up, and rode the same school bus to Vanlue Local High School. We were on the football team together. After graduation our paths diverged and I lost track of him from time to time. Rest in peace good friend.

I had the privilege of spending 12 years with Jerry as a classmate. I will never forget Jerry as I had the privilege of playing 2nd string football across from Jerry most practices, he just squashed me. But once in awhile he would let his guard down and would get through him. Of course for the next couple of times he would squash me more.
He was a good man a good family man and a friend. May he rest peace. My thoughts are with his family...Cal Saltzman Vanlue Class of 1960
