Irma Jean Berridge

Jean Berridge, 99, of Fostoria, passed away Monday, June 17, 2024, at Independence House, Fostoria.

She was born July 23, 1924, in Sandusky County, to Louis E. and Hazel V. (Kille) Bowers. She married Richard R. Berridge on Sept. 1, 1947, and he preceded her in death Nov. 15, 2013.

Jean is survived by three children, Terry (Judi) Berridge of San Antonio, Texas, Deborah Hagenmaier of Fostoria, and Cindy (Ross) Morehead of Dayton; grandchildren, Michelle Scoville, Terry Berridge II, Matthew Berridge, Kelly Hagenmaier, John Hagenmaier, Sarah Hagenmaier, Stacy Nagel, Meghan Creech, and Jaclyn Pierce; and great-grandchildren, Jared Hall, Rebecca, Hall, Alex Scoville, Christopher Berridge, Gavin Berridge, Kira Berridge, Liam Berridge, Violet Hagenmaier, Phobe Hagenmaier, Emma Nagel, Anna Nagel, Taylor Creech, Gavin Creech, Lucas Creech, and Loralei Pierce.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Lois Stiger, Helen Rose Kittle, Eleanor Reihing, Ned Bowers, Ray Bowers, Faye McClaughlin, and Joyce Haddix.

Jean was a 1942 graduate of Bradner High School and attended Davis College. While attending Davis College, she worked at Kresges and later as a secretary for Walter, Canaan and Marvin. She also worked at the Ann Arbor Railroad in Toledo as a comptometer operator. Jean enjoyed crafts, embroidery, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and quilting.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 2024, until the time of Jean's funeral at 1 p.m. at MANN-HARE-HOENING FUNERAL HOME, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria, Ohio, 44830, with Chaplain Linda Davison presiding. Burial will follow at Bradner Cemetery.
