Hal Durbin Obituary
Hal Edward Durbin, 71, of Findlay, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023.
Hal was born Jan. 26, 1952, in Delta, and was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lou Durbin. Hal married his high school sweetheart, Marcia Dailey, on April 6, 1974.
Hal is survived by his wife, Marcia; son, Ryan (Sara) Durbin of Pataskala; daughter, Erin (Bill) Klorer of Whitehouse; granddaughters, Ava, Emma, Aubrey, and Marissal siblings, Cherie Grimes, Roni Lawrence, Tim Durbin, and Rob Durbin.
Hal was a pilot for 55 years, accumulating over 32,000 flight hours. He worked as a flight instructor, Chief Pilot for Crow Incorporated, then OH Materials and retired from United Airlines with 30 years of service.
Hal enjoyed flying his Piper Cub and remote control airplanes, attending QB meetings and his time on Liberty Township Fire Department, watching football, and most of all, spending time with his grandkids.
Visitation will be 12-5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, 2023, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Hal's funeral will be private for the family.
Memorials may be given to Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus in his memory.

I can't find the words to say on how much you are missed.Flew United Airlines a few months ago.I always enjoyed my flights when you was at the helm. Knew i would arrive safetly.The flight wasn't as good knowing you wasn't there. But God had other plans for you. Miss your smile & laughter.

I´ve know Hal since we were new hires at United. He was far more than a casual friend to me, he was like the brother I never had. I´m still shocked and deeply saddened by losing someone I could share everything with. RIP my friend.

I am very saddened and shocked to hear about the passing of Hal. I have fond memories of Hal instructing me to become a instrument commercial pilot after I returned home from the army back in 1971. I remember Tony Barnum nicked named Hal ( John Denver ). I thank him for his time he spent flying with me. I was very happy for his United Airlines experience and enjoyed his 747 stories.

We know not the plan of which God has for each of us... We will find ourselves questioning his plan because we are stricken with grief.
Let us not mourn the death of Hal but rather rejoice in the life and the legacy of which he has left behind ... Rest is peace...
