Gordon L. Schmidt

Gordon L. Schmidt, 83, of Mt. Blanchard, passed away at his residence Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024. He was born Feb. 8, 1941, in Wells, Wisconsin, the son of the late Gordon R. and Lilly E. (Fischer) Schmidt. On Dec. 3, 1966, he married Glenna Rose Farmer, who survivors in Mt. Blanchard.

Survivors include his daughter, Tammy Lynn (Dennis) Davison of Gallipolis, Tricia Schmidt of Mt. Blanchard, and Trina (Vince) Vasquez of Toledo; four grandchildren, Cade Schmidt, Julius and Violet Vasquez and Savannah Davison; his brother, Michael Schmidt of Springfield, Missouri; and a sister, JoDelle (Stephen) Carroll of Kimberly, Wisconsin.

Preceding him in death were his parents, and a sister Gina Kinast.

Gordon was employed at Soo Line Railroad and retired from Whirlpool after 30 years. He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Findlay. He enjoyed polka music, his trains, watching the Green Bay Packers and watching YouTube videos.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 9, 2024,at Concordia Lutheran Church, Findlay. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. David DePaoli officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed towards the church.
