Glenn Roper Obituary
Glenn David Roper, 82 of rural McCutchenville, died at 2:13 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. He was born February 22, 1942, to David and Madge (Melroy) Kahler. He married Mariam (Webster) Roper on May 27, 1961, and she survives.
Surviving are the following children, Jeff (Teresa) Roper, Greensburg, Indiana, Scott Roper, Paducah, Kentucky, Chris (Shannon) Roper, Wharton, Bryan (Jacki) Roper, Pickens, South Carolina, Sheri (fiancee, Dave Kinn) Panuto, New Riegel. Also , surviving are 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Darlene Kilen, Arizona and Deb (Benny) Monaco, Rossford.
He was preceded in death by three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Diane Hoenshell.
David at one time owned his own semi and drove for Cooper and Jarrett Trucking. Then he worked for 25 years at the former Tower Automotive, Upper Sandusky.
He was a 1960 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School. For hobbies he loved woodworking, going fishing and camping but mainly loved spending time with his family.
Funeral services for David will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, with Pastor Josh Swinehart officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore. Visitation will be from 11-1 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2025, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.

A special memory for me is David helping with our residents bird house and pine comb flowers projects. He also helped with numerous projects at the church. Always willing to quietly lend a helping hand. He was a good friend to my mom and me. He will be missed.
