Gerald Wayne "Jerry" Scott
Gerald Wayne "Jerry" Scott, 70, of Findlay, passed away at 9:06 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 2023, at his residence.
Jerry was born July 10, 1952, to William and Betty (Jenkins) Scott.
Jerry had such a wonderful heart. He loved so many wonderful things, especially cooking a big meal for his family, traveling to different parts of the world, going to Cedar Point, and spending times with his beloved family. Jerry loved each one of his family members very much, but saved a little bit more for the love of his wife, Cheryl, whom he married March 12, 1974. Jerry loved his grandchildren as much as his children and would do anything to make them smile or laugh.
Jerry served in U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, serving as an air traffic controller. Jerry was the the middle child of his siblings, Susan, Kathy, Jeanne, Teresa, and Jeffrey Scott. Jerry is also survived by his granddaughter, Emerald, that he and Cheryl raised as their own. Jerry was a husband to Cheryl and father to Shane and Shawn Scott. He was also the grandfather to his son's beautiful children, Ronnie Scott, Taylor Scott, Nevaeh Scott, Trinity Scott, and Noah Scott. He was also a great-grandfather to Angel Scott, Carter Scott, and Callie Scott.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; and two children, Charity and Christopher Scott.
Jerry was a long-time member of Upper Room Church of God, Findlay. He loved to work on home improvement projects, although he never seemed to finish them! As we look back on all the beautiful memories, Jerry left a special place on this earth and will forever be in each of our hearts for as long as we live. We, his family, know that his beautiful soul is resting in peace.
Visitation will be 12-1 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2023, at Upper Room Church of God, 520 West Bigelow Ave., Findlay. Jerry's funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at the church. Full military rites will be conducted by Hancock County Memorial Squad.
