Gerald D. "Jerry" Pestana
Gerald "Jerry" Damien Pestana, of North Baltimore, peacefully left this earth surrounded by those he loved Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at the age of 57. He fought cancer for eight years with a determination to beat it, until COPD took over.
He was born October 2, 1967, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Damien G. and Carolyn K. (Lugibihl) Pestana.
He was a Findlay High School graduate. From there he joined the U.S. Navy until 1989. During that time, he served on the U.S.S. Independence, CV-62. Also, in 2017, he married Cineisa Siferd, whom he was married to for 8 years.
Jerry dedicated 36 years to transporting steel and stone as an operator of an 18-wheeler truck. He was inspired to pursue a career in semi-truck driving by his uncle Greg, which drove his passion for his Peterbilt vehicle. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan as well as a Kansas City Chiefs fan. Above all, Jerry loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his only great-grandchild.
He leaves behind his loving wife Cineisa; his six children, Jessika (John) Walker of Findlay, Alyssa (Paul) Parker of Findlay, David Pestana (Whitney Glancy) of North Baltimore, Brittany (Josh) Tate, Jason (Kelsey) Stoner, and Michael Stoner;14 grandchildren, Shelbi, McKenna, Emma, Bryson, Samantha, Julia, McCoy, Gracie, Mollie, Lyam, Luna, Lylah, Johnny, and Gwen; and one great-grandchild, Royal. In addition, Gerald is survived by his siblings, Gary Badertscher of Marion, Doreen (Brad) Miller of North Carolina; brother-in-law, Matt Siferd of Findlay; and sister-in-law, Theresa Miller of Bloomdale; mother-in-law, Imelda Siferd; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles; and his best friend, Doug. Along with his beloved furry companions, Buckeye and Jazmine.
Jerry was preceded in death by both parents; brother, Richard Badertscher; uncle, Gregory Lugibihl, and father-in-law, Conrad Siferd.
Friends and family may visit from 11-noon Saturday, August 16, 2025, at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, (419-422-1500). Jerry's memorial service will follow visitation at noon in the funeral home with Pastor Jarrell presiding. Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad will conduct military honors.
