Gerald E. Epley

Gerald Eugene Epley, 73, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 18, 2025, after a valiant fight with leukemia at The James Center in Columbus.

Gerry was born April 27, 1951, to Bonnie and Richard Epley at Bluffton Community Hospital. He was the oldest of 11 children. Gerry was lovingly called "The Guru". He always had an answer to everything; if he didn't, he'd come up with one.

He was a 1969 graduate of Arcadia High School and had a two year degree in mechanical engineering.

He married Barbara (Wisner) on June 23, 1974, and they enjoyed 50 years of marriage. Together, they had one daughter, Megan (Daniel) Stuck. She was the apple of his eye, and the apple didn't fall far from the tree. Gerry was blessed with one grandson, Zane Stuck, whom he dearly loved. They were fishing buddies, loved crabbing at the beach, and hot rod buddies.

The first part of Gerry's work life was spent as a bulk truck driver for Landmark and the other half as a maintainer at Ball Metal Corporation.

Gerry was an avid car lover. He was a member of Flag City Classics, which put on Cruise Night in Findlay. He was the club artist and designed the T-shirts for their events. If that wasn't enough, he was a huge fan of assembling model cars. He has a large case of model cars he's put together over the years. Gerry bought a '55 Chevy years ago that was in sad shape. He redid the car from the ground up himself. He fabricated, upholstered, and painted the car, which was his pride and joy.

While his daughter was growing up, he served as a Gray Y Coach in basketball. He was also a softball coach for her team during the summer. He enjoyed helping the youth. Gerry will sorely be missed by his family.

Funeral service will be at 12 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2025, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, where visitation will be from 10-12 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be private.
