George Waldman Obituary
George Franklin Waldman, 86, of Rawson, passed away Friday, July 21, 2023, in Findlay.
He was born Oct. 10, 1936, in Putnam County, to Ray Franklin and Dorothy (Wilson) Waldman. George married Alice Mae Heuberger on Oct. 14, 1956, in Findlay, and they were happily married for over 64 years.
George is survived by his sons, Paul (Carol) Waldman of Mt Cory and Rusty (Melissa) Waldman of Rawson; son-in-law, Jeff Taylor of Findlay; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Lee (Rose) Waldman; sister, Donna Jean Breidenbach; and nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
George was preceded in death by his wife, Alice; daughters, Sandra Sue Settlemire and Kathy Taylor; sister, Linda K. Waldman; and brother-in-law, Lawrence "Scooter" Breidenbach.
George retired from Findlay High School where he was a Machine Trades Instructor. He was a faithful man of God and attended Good Shepherd Church of Benton Ridge. George was a member of North Central Ohio Cushman Motor Scooter Club of America and Vintage Bike Club of America. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling with his family. George was an influential man to the ones he came into contact with. He loved others like Christ and was a gentle and caring man.
Visitation for family and friends will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay. George's funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Good Shepherd Church of Benton Ridge, 105 North Main Street, Benton Ridge. Burial will follow at Benton Ridge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Bridge Home Health and Hospice of Findlay.

I was so happy to see George in March. Many wonderful memories of times at FHS. George's smile would light up a room the moment he walked in. He had the most optimistic personality and it showed. Just a super sweet man with a wonderful family. George and Alice made the perfect couple. Sending prayers to your family.

George, was a very special man. He had not only a vast knowledge of his subject matter but the ability to share it with his students in a unique and kindly manner. He was respected by all his peers both vocation and academic. He truly will be missed.
