Frank Matthews Obituary

Frank Lafayette Matthews III, of Fort Worth, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026 at the age of 81, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, friendship, and charisma. Known for his love of life and his magnetic personality, Frank had an unmatched ability to light up any room and bring people together. A proud member of the River Crest Country Club, he cherished his friendships there and could often be found sharing stories over a round of golf or a drink with his closest friends. Frank also had a deep love for travel and he found joy and companionship in the many dogs who were dear parts of his life.

He was married twice and is survived by his daughter, Haley. Frank will be remembered as a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and never missed an opportunity to enjoy the company of others-forever the life of the party.

FL, as i knew him, was a live wire around the frat shelter. Everyone recognized his magnetic and charismatic personality. Sometimes he would disagree but he was never disagreeable.A good guy.

Frank was a dear, dear friend, and I truly enjoyed knowing him in the few short years that I had with him. He was handsome, charismatic, and loving, especially to Hank and Annabelle, two of the dogs that he rescued and cared for throughout his life. We had many wonderful times together, and I will always treasure that the Lord brought him into my life and truly blessed our times together. May God bless Frank Matthews!

FL, as I knew him as a fraternity brother at TCU, was genuine good guy. He was fun to be around. That continued to be the case when I would see him at pregame parties or tailgates at TCU football games.
