I am very to hear about your loss. I worked for him for 10 years as the Honda tech, and can truly say from our conversations, that His primary concerns were always about the welfare, health and wellbeing of his family. I hope you all are well and remember Him as fondly as I do. Happy Trails Gene!

Dear Elaine and Family,

Collette and I were saddened by a call from Carol Roessing concerning Gene's passing. Gene was "one of a kind" and a true friend starting back in grade school in Napoleon. Everyone loved Gene and he made each of us feel like we were special to him.

One of the highlights of our friendship was a trip to Florida by seven guys in a Ford Railway Express Truck with six bunks built in the rear. [0nly six bunks because we travelled all night and one of us had to drive!] We left home immediately after Gene's high school graduation and headed for Florida. What a great time and remembrance! We had so much fun that we repeated the trip the following year after my graduation. No truck this time! Gene drove his 1953 Ford coupe and I drove my 1951 Chevy Bel Air, towing a motor boat. Not the smartest decision by seven 18 year olds! We launched the boat the minute we arrived in Sarasota, started the engine and travelled about 100 yards before the engine stopped! We never did get the engine started again! We towed the boat back home full of oranges and grapefruit!

We want you to know that Gene and all of you are in our prayers as we ask God to welcome him with open arms and holds all of you in the palm of his hands to help you through these difficult times.

May Gene always rest in peace! God bless you and your family!
