Gary Potts Obituary

Gary Allen Potts

In Loving Memory of Gary Allen Potts

Gary Allen Potts, 66, of Bowling Green, passed away peacefully at Wood County Hospital, March 17, 2026. Born June 17, 1959, Gary lived a full and meaningful life centered on faith, family, and connection with others.

Gary dedicated many years of his career to the automotive industry, working in sales and finance. He took great pride in his work and built lasting relationships with colleagues and customers alike. In retirement, he embraced a slower pace of life, enjoying the things he loved most. He had a passion for bowling, golf, and baseball, and found joy in both friendly competition and time spent with loved ones.

Above all, Gary was a devout Christian whose belief in God was the foundation of his life.

Gary is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley Potts and his children, Nichole Cleavenger, Steven Potts, Jeremy Potts (Jessica Potts), Laura Duckett (Albert Duckett), Christy O'Neill (Matt O'Neill), Sara Blody (Eric Blody), Kelly Whitman (Kevin Whitman), and Brian Shearn (Brittany Shearn). He was also a proud grandfather to 25 grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Potts and Eileen Potts.

A celebration of life will be at a family home for close family and friends from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 4744 Naomi Dr., Toledo, OH 43623.

Gary's life was a testament to faith, love, and devotion. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

"For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him."
