Frederick William Bill Ferdinandsen

May 23, 1955 - Mar 31, 2025

Lakeland Florida

Frederick William "Bill" Ferdinandsen, 69, passed away peacefully Monday, March 31, 2025, in Lakeland, Florida, in his home surrounded by his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, his daughters, and loved ones.

Born May 23, 1955, Bill was a resident of Huron, Ohio, and a proud alumnus of Sandusky High School. Bill dedicated many years to the construction industry, working alongside his father. He was a member of Sandusky Baptist Temple. Bill's faith was an integral part of his life, providing him with strength and guidance.

Bill and Iva moved to Lakeland, Florida, in September 2023 to be close to their daughters and grandchildren. An enthusiastic Cleveland Browns fan, Bill's passion for the team was only surpassed by his love for his family. He cherished his time with his children and grandchildren, creating memories they will hold dear forever.

He is survived by his wife, Iva D. Ferdinandsen; his daughters, Melissa D. (Russell) Yost and Amy K. Cummings; his sisters, Janice Mays, Cindy Esposito, Dotty (Arnie) Wright, and Kaylynn Tobey; his brother, Terry Ferdinandsen; along with his 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; plus nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Neidler (Ferdinandsen); father, Frederick O Ferdinandsen; brother, Ricky L Ferdinandsen; and son-in-law, Joel A Cummings.

Bill's life was marked by his sense of humor, resilient spirit, unwavering faith, and profound love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of kindness, dedication, and family devotion will live on through the lives of those he touched.

Memorial contribu-tions can be made to the family. There will be no funeral services at this time. The family will have a celebration of life at a later date.

Dearest Ivy, Mel, Amy and family,

Every person who is born will die one day. We all know that spouses & parents are always at the top of our `loved list´ & losing them is seemingly like the world´s end. Many of us have gone through this disheartening time in our lives & the pain can weigh more than anyone can seemingly take.

Husbands & fathers are one of the most valuable persons in our lives, they are a blessing & their loss can be so very difficult. But ... please know that God is with all of you & he loves and cares for you! The gentle soul of Bill has ascended to heaven, leaving behind a lot of memories. Keep him in your daily prayers and know that our Lord will keep him in peace and bless his soul.
May you be comforted by the outpouring of love surrounding you & we pray for God to keep you in his embraces in this difficult time and give you the comfort & peace that you seek!

We know you are deeply stricken by grief, and we continue praying for you during this great loss. God bless & comfort all of you.
