Franklin Livingston Obituary
Franklin E. Livingston, 95, of Arlington, passed away Friday, July 14, 2023, at Arlington Orchards.
He was born Sept. 29, 1927, in Delaware Township, to Howard and Helen (Bowen) Livingston. He married Neva (Bibler) on Sept. 3, 1948, and she preceded him in death July 9, 2022.
Franklin is survived by his sons, Dennis (Candy) Livingston of Upper Sandusky, John (Kay) Livingston of Arlington, and Ronald Livingston of Cridersville; daughters, Connie (Tom) Thomas and Denise (Craig) Durliat, both of Arlington; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Carl; sister, Marilyn Knepper; and infant son, Danny Joe.
Franklin was an U.S. Army veteran, serving in Panama as a personal driver for General Dwight D. Eisenhower. After his service, he was employed by Arlington Elevator and then became a lifetime farmer. He was also a part-time employee at Livingston Tire in Lima.
He graduated from Mt. Blanchard High School in 1945 and was also a lifetime member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in rural Arlington. Frank worked tirelessly on the farm, taking good care of the soil, producing many crops, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He raised many animals and didn't meet a cat or dog that he didn't love.
Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2023, at CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Arlington, and 9:30-10 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Arlington. Franklin's funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the church with Pastor Al Schnipke officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Franklin to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, in care of Connie Thomas, 13730 St. Rt. 103, Arlington, Ohio, 45814.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to all the caregivers who have assisted with his care over the past few years.
