Emily Anne Scales

Emily Anne Scales, 41, of Findlay, passed peacefully Thursday, Aug. 11, 2022. She was born June 30, 1981, in Cuxhaven, Germany, to Jan Michael and Deborah Ann (Majeski) Scales.

Emily was a graduate of Findlay High School, class of 1999. She was a member of the soccer team and played the cello in the orchestra. She then attended Owens Community College and The University of Findlay, with a focus on art and general studies. She worked for a short time as a Certified Nursing Assistant before working in manufacturing and food service industries. Emily was fun-loving and would always help others when she could. She enjoyed exploring nature, nurturing animals, and had a passion for art. She loved her family and friends very much.

Emily is survived by her mother; brother, Joshua Scales; aunts, Sharon (Buddy) Coil, Jennifer (Jerry) Herback, Reba (Michael) Mathias, and Marla Montgomery; uncles, Jerome Morris, Rick Pavlik, and Jodia (Eve) Scales; numerous cousins; special companion, Rickey Harvey; and feline friend, Black.

She was preceded in death by her father; brother, Jared Scales; grandparents, Edwin and Minnie Scales and Ted and Eleanor Majeski; aunts, Pam Morris and Carla Pavlik; and uncle, Charlie Montgomery.

Family will receive friends 12-2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022, at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, 205 West Sandusky Street, Findlay, with a memorial service at 2 p.m. Pastor Robert Tansill will officiate. Online condolences may be made at www.coldrencrates.com.
