Eleanor Jane Hipsher

Eleanor Jane Hipsher, 81, passed away Monday, Jan. 30, 2023, at Lima Memorial Health System.

She was born July 15, 1941, in Forest, to F. Bailey and Dorothy (Oates) McKinley. She married Lanny Hipsher on April 6, 1962, and he survives in Dunkirk.

Eleanor is also survived by her children, Wesley (Melinda) Hipsher of Dunkirk, Lisa (Richard) Walden of Dunkirk, and Craig Hipsher of Lima; grandchildren, Molly (Seth) Evans, Kyle Hipsher, Lindsay (Justin) Hollar, Brady (Miranda Holbrook) Hipsher, and Kathrine Hipsher; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Owen Evans; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Janette Bibler, Sue Grubbs, Gerald McKinley, Ronald McKinley, and John McKinley.

Eleanor was a 1959 graduate of Hardin Northern School. She retired from Findlay Whirlpool after having also worked at Centrex, as a kindergarten aide at Hardin Northern School, and at RBM, where she met her partner of over 60 years, Lanny. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling and mother's club. Her focus then turned to her children's and grandchildren's activities where she never missed a game or event and was always their biggest fan. In her later years, Eleanor enjoyed traveling and day trips, especially those to a casino.

Eleanor's funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, at Price-McElroy Funeral Home, Kenton. Visitation will be 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Dunkirk Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Dunkirk Grace United Methodist Church.
