Eileen B. Lyon
Eileen Bernice (Bonner) Lyon, 91, of Findlay, died at 11:16 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023, at home.
She was born July 6, 1931, in Huntington County, Indiana, to Guy H. and Dessie M. (Waters) Bonner, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Union Township High School, Huntington County, Indiana, in 1949, and from International Business College in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 1950. She was employed in the office of Fort Wayne State School for two years, office of North American Van Lines, Fort Wayne, IN, for 7 ½ years, and city of Findlay Water Billing Office for nearly 15 years and retired at 66 years of age.
Eileen married Jerry L. Lyon on Dec. 26, 1959, at Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, Fort Wayne, Indiana, by Monsignor Thomas Durkin. They were married for 58 years before he also preceded her in death July 8, 2017.
Eileen's survivors include two daughters, Anne (Ron) Thomas of Rio Grande, Ohio, and Jan Lyon of Bowling Green, Ohio; two granddaughters, Jenni (Daniel) Falkenheim and Nikki (Josh) Lindley, both of Hilliard, Ohio; three great-grandsons she treasured, Landon, Jensen, and Grayson; and great-granddaughter, Eden. She was also looking forward to the birth of another great-granddaughter in two weeks.
Eileen was the seventh child of 11 children. One brother, Guy (Phyllis) Bonner, and one sister-in-law, Sandy Bonner, survive.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Loyal, Emmett (Eleanor), Carl (Imogene), Leonard (Jean Ann), and Paul; and sisters, Tenna, Charlotte (Paul), Maxine (Forrest), and Alma Jean (Dick).
Eileen resided in Findlay for six years after marriage, lived 14 years in Van Wert, and then returned to Findlay for the remainder of her life. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church. She was a member of Rosary Altar Society and Hancock County Genealogy Society. She also served as Eucharist Minister at her church for 40 years.
Visitation will be 9:30-11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, (419-422-1500). Mass of Christian burial will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Michael the Archangel Parish Church on Bright Road with Fr. Adam Hertzfeld presiding. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery, Findlay, alongside her husband.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Michael the Archangel Church or your personal choice.
