Dorothy Gochenauer Obituary

Dorothy M. Gochenauer

Dorothy M. Gochenauer, 96, of Findlay, passed away at Birchaven Village Tuesday, April 1, 2025. Dorothy was born the daughter of the late Earl Joseph and Nellie Marcella (Andrew) Smith November 15, 1928, in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. On September 24, 1946, she married George G. Gochenauer, who preceded her in death March 20, 2004.

Survivors include her daughters, Sandy Decker, Rita (Ron) Oswald, and Janice Clark, all of Findlay, and Kim (Mike) Putnam, of Woodstock, Georgia; and her son, Jerry Gochenauer of Findlay. Dorothy was blessed with 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Mary Louise Felix, of Spring Grove, Pennsylvania.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; a son, James Alan Gochenauer; son-in-law, Jim Decker; a daughter-in-law, Kim Gochenauer; a sister, Catherine Harner; and her brothers, Robert, Francis, and Dale Smith.

Dorothy was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting and reading.

Visitation for Dorothy will be from 12-2 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2025, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Chaplin Linda Davison officiating. Burial will be at Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay.

Memorial contribu-tions may be directed to Cancer Patient Services or Bridge Home Health and Hospice.
