Doloris Faye "Dee" Wirtz

Doloris Faye "Dee" Wirtz, 94, passed away peacefully Sunday, Feb. 11, 2024.

She was born April 15, 1929, in Columbus, to Charles and Anna Winniestaffer. Dee grew up in German Village in Columbus and graduated from Columbus South High School. She met her husband of 64 years, Harold, and raised two sons together, Dale and Karl. Dee enjoyed camping with her family, cooking, crochet, and playing golf. She was involved in many organizations, including a card club, a neighborhood group, TWIG, and the Memorial Tournament as a volunteer.

Dee was very proud of her family and doted on her grandchildren, especially. She was funny and so much fun to be around. Her family recalls that she always kept a clean and neat house.

She will be greatly missed by her sons, Dale (Jayne) and Karl (Cindy) Wirtz; grandchildren, Adam, Kate, Mitch, Caroline, and Ethan; and great-grandchildren, Grayson, Georgia, and Walden.

Dee was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Harold; parents; and siblings, William Winniestaffer, Robert Winniestaffer, Russell Winniestaffer, Charles Winniestaffer Jr., Ann Vaupel, and Doris Lippert.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Schoedinger Dublin, 5980 Perimeter Drive.

Dee's visitation will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, 2024, until the time of her memorial service at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
