Dianne Pratt
Dianne Pratt, a loving wife, mother, and mamaw of Vanlue, passed away Monday, April 28, 2025, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 78.
Dianne was born on August 21, 1946, in Upper Sandusky to the late Reuben and Sara (Ward) Wickham. One evening, while at the bowling alley in Carey, a young gentleman by the name of Dennis Pratt came and sat down at her table; from there, the rest was history. They were married October 14, 1973, and he survives in Vanlue. Dianne is also survived by her loving children, Jamie (Brooke) Pratt and Wynter (Joe) Nye; grandchildren who she adored, Kennedy Pratt, Reagan Pratt, and Lincoln Pratt; siblings, Ray (Elania) Wickham and Penny Wickham; brother-in-law, Mike Todd; sister-in-law, Charlotte Wickham; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Nancy Todd, Larry Wickham, and Garrie Wickham.
Dianne was a 1964 graduate of Vanlue High School. After graduation, Dianne enrolled in Beauty School, where she obtained her beautician's license. After graduation, Dianne went to Findlay to start her career, working alongside her brother Ray. She worked most of her career in Carey, spanning over 50 years. Dianne was a faithful member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Vanlue. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Eagles Club, all in Carey. Dianne was an excellent dancer and loved singing. Dianne also enjoyed marching in honor of her dad and brother Larry in the Memorial Day parade held in Carey. Dianne had a heart of gold and would help anyone in a time of need. She was a tremendous baker and cook and known for her southern cooking. Dianne was a proud mother, affectionally called Sweetie by her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.
Visitation for Dianne will be from 3-7 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2025 from at Stombaugh-Batton & Snyder Funeral Home, Carey. Dianne's Celebration of Life Service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the funeral home, where additional visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Houcktown Cemetery.
