Diana K. Rice

Diana K. Rice, affectionately known by many as "Ma," 79, of Fostoria, passed away Friday, April 14, 2023, after a lengthy illness.

Ma was born Sept. 4, 1943, in Fostoria, and graduated from Rising Sun High School in 1961. She previously worked at Regal Foods and Fostoria Industries. Ma also enjoyed visiting with her customers and delivery drivers (especially her "Bud Man") at her brother Jack's store, Jack's Carry-Out, where she worked for several years. Ma loved spending time laughing with her family and watching her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren grow. She also enjoyed sprint car racing, NASCAR, and watching WWE.

Ma is survived by her children, Lori Rice of Tiffin, Darren (Tammy) Rice of Norwalk, Carla Kear of Fostoria, and Mac (Ashley) Rice of Fremont; grandchildren, Kristina Rice, Jenni Wolf-Zaika, Tyrone Taylor, Tyonna Taylor, Izaiah Cline, Emma Rice, Alex Kear, Erica Riehl, Jenna Riehl, and Allyson Dickman; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and other nieces and nephews.

Ma also wanted to give special recognition to her best friend of 52 years, Shirley Childers, and long-time friends, Lee Wolfe and Barb Conway, for their friendship throughout the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Pearl (Davis) Kraylek; brothers, Jim, Jack, and Ron Kraylek; and sisters, Janet Kraylek, Gloria Hannigan, Bev Burkett, and Karen Markle.

Ma's funeral will be 6 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Diana wished to thank Dr. Iboaya and Dr. Weiner and their staffs, and the staff at the Dialysis Center at Fostoria Hospital for their care and support over the last several years.
