Dennis Duane Borkosky
Dennis Duane Borkosky, 72, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2023, at University of Toledo Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Aug. 2, 1950, at Bluffton Hospital, to Ross Stanley and Dorothy (Davis) Borkosky, who preceded him in death.
He graduated from Riverdale High School in 1968. He then attained a bachelor's degree in Industrial Arts Education at Bowling Green State University. He taught a few years at Vanlue, managed Timber Lanes, worked the parts department at Kibsgard Chrysler, worked electrical/mechanical maintenance at UniGrip at Upper Sandusky and at Intersil, and then retired from First Solar. He served several years in Ohio National Guard. Throughout the years, he farmed part-time.
He married Nancy Miller in 1974. They had three children and later divorced. He then married Lisa Tidaback in 1998.
While raising his children, Dennis was Cub Master for pack 314, Mt. Blanchard, and was a referee for Black Swamp Soccer Club.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Borkosky; three children, Douglas Borkosky and his wife, Karen, of Carey, Dustin Borkosky and his wife, Sara, of Pelzer, South Carolina, and Melissa Borkosky of Arlington; four grandsons, Andrew, Benjamin, David, and Wyatt Borkosky; two brothers, Fred (Jane) Borkosky of Arlington and Frank (Sue) Borkosky of Defiance; sisters-in-law, Jean Borkosky of Findlay and Alice Borkosky of Colorado; many nieces and nephews; and ex-wife, Nancy Bickford.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Jane Francis; and brothers, Donald and James Borkosky.
Dennis loved spending time with his grandsons and visits with Lisa to their cottage at Cinnamon Lake. He enjoyed woodworking projects, helping build theater sets at Riverdale High School, and fishing. Most of all, he enjoyed farming and the time spent on his John Deere 4010.
Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, 2023, and 10-11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, 2023, at CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Arlington. Dennis' funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Travis Borkosky officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
