Denis Lonz Brewer
Denis Lonz Brewer, 75, of Findlay, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2023, following a well-fought battle with cancer.
Denis was born May 31, 1947, in Mansfield, to Edward and Margaret Brewer and was raised in
Butler, Ohio along with his four sisters and two brothers. Denis graduated from Clear Fork High School in 1965 and after being honorably discharged from U.S. Army, he continued to serve his country retiring from U.S. Army National Guard. He spent most of his life in the Mansfield and Findlay areas.
Denis was initially married to Karen Sue Izer of Bellville, with whom he had three children. Denis and Karen raised three boys, Roger Brewer (deceased), Brent Brewer (deceased), and Brian Brewer of Columbus.
His second marriage to Nancy Prosser of Mansfield on June 15, 1975, resulted in three additional children. Denis and Nancy were married for 43 years and raised two girls, Christy Brewer (deceased) and Jody Bucholtz, and son, Denis M. Brewer.
Denis spent over 20 years serving in U.S. Army and Army National Guard. His primary occupation other than the military was working as a fire protection specialist.
He had a strong passion for football, both playing and watching. His favorite football team to watch was The Ohio State Buckeyes. He enjoyed frequenting local restaurants and spending time with any of his seven grandchildren. He also enjoyed attending vintage car shows, gun conventions, and remaining physically fit by weightlifting and enjoying the outdoors.
Denis is survived by his sons, Brian M. Brewer of Columbus and Denis M. Brewer of Findlay; grandson, Tristan Brewer of
Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughter, Jody Bucholtz; grandsons Cody Bucholtz and Corey Bucholtz; granddaughters, Cadence Bucholtz of
Paso Robles, California, and Alyssa Baith; great-grandson, Phoenix Baith of Mansfield; granddaughter, Breanna (Addison) Morr of Ashland; grandson, Derek Brewer; and great-granddaughter, Isabella Brewer of Mansfield; sisters, Marlene (Brewer) Heffelfinger of Conneaut and Margie (Brewer) Sparks of Perrysville.
Denis was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Margaret; wife, Nancy; sons, Roger and Brent; daughter, Christy; brothers, Ron and George; and sisters, Trudy Tackett and Wilma Heffelfinger.
Per Denis' request, there will be no services.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hanneman Funeral Home, 201 Osborn Ave.,
Findlay, Ohio, 45840.
