Debra Oliphant Obituary

Debra Lynn Oliphant

Debra Lynn Oliphant, 64, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022, after a 10-year battle with chronic kidney disease.

Debra was born Aug. 26, 1958, in Findlay, to John L. and Maxine (Santmire) Copus.

After graduating from Van Buren High School, she was a bus driver for Head Start and then went on to work in various factories around Findlay. Later, she secured a job at Harris Corporation with her mother, where she worked for 13 years and met many lifelong friends.

She married Billy Oliphant in 2006 and moved to North Carolina in 2010. She enjoyed having her granddaughters visit North Carolina in the summers, taking them shopping and going to the beach. She also enjoyed their garden and swimming pool. Her favorite pastime was fishing with her husband and family and was always able to out fish everyone. She had a deep love for stray kittens and often brought them home.

In 2021, Debra and Billy moved back to Ohio to be closer to family and the grandkids. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life whom she proudly doted over and spoiled every chance she got. Debra enjoyed lunch outings with her many friends from work and high school days. When she had the energy, she loved having the family over for dinner.

Debra is survived by her husband, Billy Oliphant; daughters, Heather (Robert) Lowe and Tearany Helms-Tucker; father, John L. Copus; sister, Diana (Joseph) Kirk; brother, John E. Copus; five grandchildren, Ebonie, Ivorie, Melodie, Peter, and Elijah; and two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Ellie.

A celebration of her life will be at a later date. COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, is handling arrangements and online condolences may be sent to www.coldrencrates.com. Memorials may be given to the family.

Deb was my sister in law and I will truly miss her calls and especially her texts of her great grand Cam and Ellie. She always enjoyed the Spangler candy suckers I'd send. I am glad she's no longer in pain and with her mother. Sending big hugs to Billy and all her treasured family
