Daniel Beirne Obituary

Beirne - Daniel, 67, passed away on April 23, 2025, in Huntington, NY. Born on July 27, 1957, in Franklin Square, NY, Daniel lived a life defined by dedication to his craft, to his family, and to being unapologetically himself. For over four decades, Danny worked as a machine mechanic, mastering a trade that demands precision and perseverance. He spent more than 30 of those years at Newsday, where he became known not only for his technical expertise but also for the pride he took in his work. Colleagues respected him as an expert in his field. Danny's life was deeply rooted in love for his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Darnell Beirne; his children, Megan Beirne and Danny Beirne; and his stepchildren, Candice

Vasquez, Saul Vasquez, and Keoni Cheng. He was also a proud pop pop to Luna Vasquez. His sisters, Colleen Beirne and Maureen Beirne, also carry forward his memory. Danny was predeceased by his first wife, Debbie Beirne. Those who knew Danny will remember him as a hilariously sharp and fiercely honest man, whose humor could light up any room and whose no-nonsense attitude kept everyone grounded. Beneath that tough exterior was a heart as big as they come. He found joy in the simple things, spending time with his wife and children, watching Blue Bloods and the New York Mets, and fixing just about anything that needed repair around the house. Visitation Services will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and again from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at M.A. Connell Funeral Home, located at 934 New York Avenue, Huntington Station, NY 11746. A Funeral Service will follow on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, at St. Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY 11735. Daniel's legacy lives on through the laughter he inspired, the lessons he taught, and the deep love he gave to those around him. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
