Christine Dawn Butterworth

Christine D. "Chris" Butterworth, 59, of Findlay, passed away at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, June 24, 2023.

She was born April 8, 1964, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Robert W. Dittmar and Janet E. (Frey) Dittmar.

She is survived by her husband, J. Scott Butterworth; daughters, Alexis Butterworth and Kaila Butterworth; son-in-law, Aaron Maley; and grandson, Alante Butterworth-Maley.

Chris was preceded in death by her brother, Scott W. Dittmar.

In 1982, she attended Penn State University where she met the love of her life, James Scott Butterworth (Bud-z). She graduated from Penn State in 1986 with a degree in graphic design. Chris and Scott were married Sept. 29, 1990. Chris was an active member of College First Church of God and used her design gifts to benefit God's work. She worked for nonprofit organizations all of her career including WQED in Pittsburgh where she won a design award with National Geographic and had the chance to work with Fred Rogers. She loved camping, hunting, fishing, and spending time with her husband, daughters, son-in-law, and grandson, who was a bright light in her life.

Chris' memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2023, at College First Church of God, 1100 N. Main St., Findlay. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2023, and 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Pastor Kimberly Reese will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to College First Church of God Good Samaritan Fund, Ohio Division of Wildlife, or Hancock County Chapter of Pheasant's Forever.
