Charles Busch Obituary

Charles A. Busch

Charlie Busch was a beloved husband and father, a provider for his family, an avid golfer, handyman, and woodworker. He loved his family dearly but the Cincinnati Bearcats and Ohio State Buckeyes were a close second and third.

Charlie was born in Cincinnati on July 1, 1942, to Charles H. and Lillian Busch. The family moved to Port Clinton where Charlie graduated from Port Clinton High School in 1960. He attended the University of Cincinnati and was a member of the Acacia Fraternity. He graduated in 1964 and soon after married Ellen Riehl, his high school sweetheart July 11, 1964.

The family moved to Findlay in 1968, where he worked for RCA-GE-Harris-Intersil until his retirement at age 62.

Charlie was a member of St. Michael's the Archangel Catholic Church, Findlay, and a 25-year member of the Knights of Columbus.

Charlie was the ultimate family man. He loved sports of all kinds and coached his children's softball, baseball and soccer teams. He helped coach his son's team to the Ohio State U-12 Championship in 1982. He served as an assistant coach on The University of Findlay's men's soccer team in the mid-1980s.

He was involved in many of his children's activities such as Indian Guides, Cub Scouts, and Boy Scouts.

In retirement, Charlie loved to golf and played in local golf leagues. He organized the Friday Golf League which traveled to courses throughout northern Ohio.

Charlie is survived by Ellen (Riehl) Busch, his wife of 60 years and love of his life;

his sister, Lois (Tom) Evans; his children, Sue (Dave) Hermes, Chuck (Kelly) Busch, and Paul Busch; his brother-in-law, Ed (Colleen) Riehl; his grandchildren, Allison (Mitchell) Morris, Matt Hermes, Kylie (Matt) Sutton, Justyn Busch, Maddie Busch, Cami Kramer, Carly Kramer, Kaitlyn (David) Abbuhl, Gwen Busch, Heidi Busch; his great-grandchildren, Isabeau, Weylyn, Lili, and Roarke Sutton and Mya Busch.
