Carol Stephan Obituary
Carol A. Stephan, 72, of Wharton, died Monday, March 13, 2023, at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.
She was born Feb. 17, 1951, in Kenton, to Stanley G. and Lillian L. (Wilson) Spath. She married Don A. "Doc" Stephan on May 18, 1974, and he survives in Wharton.
Carol is also survived by a son, Gene Stephan of Wharton; grandchildren, Lilly and Ottalee Stephan; stepgrandchild, Oliver Toland; brother, Rodney Spath of Florida; and sisters, Diane (Robert) Forney of Forest and Pamela Spath Gaertner of Cincinnati.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Alan "AT" Stephan.
Carol worked for Wyandot County Health Department for 25 years and then was a substitute teacher and reading mentor at Riverdale. She enjoyed scrap booking.
Carol's funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Clark Shields Funeral Home with Harry Launder officiating. Interment will follow at Wharton Richland Union Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2023, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Riverdale Athletic Boosters or Don Stephan for Carol's grandchildren, Lilly, Ottalee, and Oliver's college fund in care of Clark Shields Funeral Home, 301 S. Patterson St., Forest, Ohio, 45843.
