Billy Bay Obituary
Billy E. "Bill" Bay passed away Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024. He was born April 7, 1928, in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Earl and Lula Bay. He was reared in the rural areas of Lamar, Golden City and Buffalo, Missouri. Bill married Zelma Huddleston in Eureka Springs, Arkansas May 29, 1951, and she survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Frances (Ron) Meeks of Findlay and Polly (Mitch) Miller of Bowling Green; and a son, David (Lindi) Bay of Kingston, Tennessee; six grandchildren, David (Nicole) Meeks, Amber (Ryan) Elliott, Adessa, Nolan, Ruthann and Emeline Miller; three great-grandchildren; Britton, Teagan and Corbin Elliott.
Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Geneva Jablonski; and two brothers, Leonard and Wayne Bay.
He graduated from Buffalo, Missouri High School in 1946 and attended Southwest Missouri University in Springfield, Misouri.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from Marathon Pipeline Company after 33 years, serving in Kansas City, Missouri, Casper, Wyoming and Findlay.
He was a past volunteer for FISH, American Cancer Society, Chopin Hall and played guitar for the Dulcimer Gatherin. He was a 56-year member of St. Marks United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Ralph D. Cole American Legion Post No. 3.
A graveside service will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, 2024, at Knollcrest Cemetery Chapel, where the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad will conduct full military rites. Arrangements have been entrusted to COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Marks United Methodist Church, Findlay.
