Amy Noel Obituary

Amy Noel

Amy Jo Noel (Beshalske) was born Aug. 11, 1962, to Don and Jeanette Beshalske. She married Doug Noel on May 28, 1982. She passed peacefully Wednesday, March 6, 2024.

Amy worked at Forest Christian Preschool before dedicating over 20 years as the children's librarian at Forest-Jackson Public Library.

She is survived by her husband, Doug; daughter, Chloe (Max) Gauthier; and sisters, Denise (Dave) Troyan and Becky (Mike) McKinney.

The library was her home away from home and she loved making it a fun place for everyone - telling jokes and talking with patrons and she especially enjoyed her time with the kids. She was very creative and artistic and headed the library's 'Cut the Craft' program. Amy and Doug also made the library's parade float for the Tree Town Festival every year.

In her free time, she enjoyed reading, going thrifting, eating out, and creating fused glass art with her daughter. She loved animals, bright colors, and anything sparkly.

Amy attended Forest United Methodist Church and shared her joy by giving everyone a kiss (Hershey Kiss) each Sunday and by helping with Vacation Bible School every summer.

She also appreciated the little things - a rainbow, a ladybug on a leaf, a sunset, a hard summer's rain, a shooting star – and looked for the Little Bit of Magic (LBOM) in each and every day. We encourage you to do the same in her memory. She was loved by many and will be missed immeasurably.

There will be a celebration of life to honor Amy at a later date. Details will be shared with the community in the near future.

Donations in her memory can be made to Forest-Jackson Public Library or Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay.

When I was a kid, I struggled with asking for help. I knew all of my friends loved the Forest library, so one of my very first times asking a stranger for help finding something, Amy was the person at the desk who was so excited to help me. I remember giving her an incredibly vague description of a movie I watched one time several years before, and she searched for maybe ten minutes and miraculously found it. I remember her being so excited and giving me more confidence, and that library being MY library for many years. Now I'm proud to say that I get to be that library worker for other people because she was the first person to show me how amazing libraries are. She's the kind of person who leaves a lasting mark on everyone around her, and she will be greatly missed. I'm eternally grateful I was able to know her, even if only through brief interactions.

There are people that leave a mark on your life and you are never the same. Amy was such a person. I knew her most of my life. Even if there was a big span of time, we were able to catch up and closed the gap! There are so many positive adjectives to describe Amy...but to know her was to love her. Hope you are dancing and having a blast in heaven! Love you lots.
