Winifred J. Lash

Winifred Lash, 102, of Findlay, passed away at Fox Run Manor Sunday, March 30, 2025. She was born November 16, 1922, in Massillon, the daughter of the late Milon and Helen (Urban) Waters. On December 14, 1946, she married Harlan Lash, who preceded her in death November 23, 1993.

Survivors include her brother, Robert C. Waters, of Macon, Georgia; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; sons, Robert, Jeffrey, and Lawrence Lash; and a great-grandson, Brandon Schuck.

Winifred graduated from Washington High School, Massillon, and later, Massillon Business College. While attending Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, she became a member of Alpha Omicron Phi Sorority.

Winifred was employed at Republic Steel Corporation, Massillon, O'Neil's Department Store, Akron, and Cooper Tire. After retiring from Cooper Tire and Rubber Company, she worked for Winebrenner Extended Care Facility, Chesyre Catering House in Findlay, and more recently as a volunteer at Blanchard Valley Hospital. She was a member of Red Hat Society and a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Findlay, including its Elizabeth Circle, and Wesley Class. She was also a member of Fort Findlay Chapter of D.A.R., Scothorn-Chetwood Chapter of Colonial Dames of the XVII Century, and honorary Winthrop Society.

Visitation for Winifred will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2025, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Cathy Davis officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Massillon.
