William R. Patterson
William R. Patterson, 55, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 29, 2026, at his home in Findlay. Bill ventured from this world surrounded by the love of his loyal companions, his dogs Hope and Dakota, and under the care of Bridge Hospice.
Bill was born February 25, 1970, and grew up in Bloomdale. He graduated from Elmwood High School in 1988.
Bill and his wife, Lisa Workley, met at Fox Run Manor, and as their friendship blossomed into dating, their love was admired by the residents. The residents set the whimsical date of February 14, 2014, and started planning the wedding, from the food to the cake to the homemade decorations. They were married February 14, 2014, at the facility because the residents and co-workers were like family members.
Those left behind to cherish Bill's memory are his wife, Lisa; his children, Chandler (Morgan Cleek) Workley and Madelynn Workley; his pups, Hope and Dakota; his mother and father-in-law, Marcia and Harvey Morelock; sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Pete A. Lopez; and brother and sister-in-law, Brent Bender and Deb Stafford.
Those ready to greet him in heaven were his mother, Mona Lou Gorrell and his stillborn son, William Christopher Patterson.
For the past seven years, Bill dedicated himself to his role as head engineer at Country Inn and Suites in Findlay. Thank you to Jonathan Hernandez for being his right-hand man, assistant, and best friend at the hotel.
Bill loved his Lord and Savior, his loving but bossy wife Lisa; his dogs, Hope and Dakota; his country; his family; and Michigan Wolverines. He was a man who reveled in the simple pleasures of life, riding his Harley Davidson along backcountry roads on the weekends. Bill and Lisa would take a trip to a new town, grab lunch and check out the scenery.
A talented cook, Bill brought flavor and creativity to the kitchen; however, Lisa was not as good at cooking, so on her nights to cook, they ordered takeout. He was known for his love of grilling and for weekends filled with hunting, fishing, and warm nights gathered around a backyard campfire, enjoying the serenity nature provided.
The string lights on their privacy fence had inexplicably gone dark in the two months prior to his passing, but they have started to glow brightly each night, perhaps a sign from an angel above, keeping his spirit alive.
Bill always tried to have the last word, but Lisa never let him, so… "I Love You More. The End. I Win." ~Lisa
