William Naert Obituary

William D. Naert

William Dennis Naert of Findlay, passed away suddenly at Birchaven from a brain tumor (glioblastoma) Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 6:45 a.m. He was born March 3, 1950, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Gilbert Alphonse and Betty Lou Naert. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Jill (Larkins); his stepdaughter, Kelley Delaney; his stepsons, Steven Delaney and Brent Delaney (Jill); and his loving grandson, Max. He is also survived by his sister, Jan of Colleyville, Texas; and many dear friends.

Bill graduated from the University of Texas in Austin and received an MBA from the University of Oklahoma. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force as an air traffic controller in the 1970s. Following his discharge, he became a regional manager for Toys R Us for 20 years. When he retired, he came to Findlay and worked part-time for Couchot Homes.

Bill was known for being humorous, supportive, and always had a warm smile for everyone he encountered. He really enjoyed playing tennis, volunteering at dog rescues, tutoring under privileged kids and started "Bill's Bingo" at a nursing home in Bluffton, South Carolina. Bill was loved by all!

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2025, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, where visitation will be one hour (12 p.m.- 1 p.m.) prior to the service. Matthew Kettinger officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay.
