William Dean Litten

William Dean Litten, 90, of Findlay, passed peacefully Friday, Aug. 26, 2022. He was born April 26, 1932, in Lima, Ohio, to Howard B. Litten and Cora Mae Mell.

After graduating from Vaughnsville High School in 1950, William Dean (known as Dean to his family and Bill to his friends) attended The Ohio State University, earning a Bachelor of Science with a focus on agriculture.

Dean married Carol Sue Smith on May 7, 1955. Two weeks later, he enlisted in U.S. Army and the following year, made First Lieutenant. Dean and Carol made their first home in Kentucky and Dean was honorably discharged in 1960 while stationed at Fort Knox, then soon after moved to Findlay.

Dean worked for many years as Sales Manager at Porcelain Products in Carey. After retirement, he cherished spending time with his grandchildren and watching them grow up throughout the years. He was very proud of his family and all their accomplishments. Dean was an active member of St. Marks United Methodist Church.

Dean is survived by his wife of 67 years, Carol Sue Litten; son, Troy Litten of San Francisco, California; daughter, Dawn Bennett of Findlay; daughter-in-law, Ingrid Litten of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren, Will Bennett of McComb, Paige Bennett of Cincinnati, and Gabe Bennett of Columbus; and great-grandchild, Blair Bennett.

He was preceded in death by his son, Trent Litten of Des Moines, Iowa; parents; and brother, Doyle Litten.
