William Earl "Bill" Kieffer

William Earl "Bill" Kieffer, 67, of Fostoria, passed away Friday, December 26, 2025, from complications of a massive heart attack in the comfort of his home. He was born February 15, 1958, in Fostoria, to Alva and Iva P. (Kreais) Kieffer.

Bill grew up in West Millgrove and graduated from Elmwood High School in 1976. He was raised as a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church and was a quiet but feisty, loyal friend to so many.

Growing up in an outdoorsy family, Bill found his true happiness in his outdoor adventures with his brother Dave and would talk about hunting squirrels and fishing with anyone who would engage in conversation. From Sugar Island, Canada, to Pennsylvania and Ohio's timbered woodland for whitetail and squirrels, Bill loved the outdoors. He loved spending time with his daughter and watching his grandsons get rowdy. He also enjoyed raising beagles, playing in local pool leagues, watching wrestling and soap operas, and fishing on Lake Erie or the nearby Fostoria reservoirs with his best friends, Dave, Ed, and Carl, whenever the weather was good. He was an avid vegetable gardener and loved harvesting and canning the fruits of his labor. Bill worked a variety of jobs throughout his life, including at Regal Foods, as a foreman at Zelanec's Tomato Farms, K-mart, Krogers, orange groves in Florida, and for 20 years at Callie's Performance Products in Fostoria. He was a frequent flyer at Smokehouse in Fostoria and talked fondly of the memories he made there over a good, cold brewski.

Surviving are his daughter, Tonya (Jacob) Selby of Vernal, Utah; two grandsons, Graysen and Lucien; and many of his lifelong friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Iva and Alva Kieffer, and his brother, David (Dave) Kieffer.

A private burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in West Millgrove, with a Celebration of Life scheduled for family and friends from 12-3 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Fostoria United Sportsmen Club, in Fostoria. Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, assisted with local arrangements.
