Wilbie N. Rowe
Wilbie N. Rowe, 86, of Upper Sandusky, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at 12:36 a.m. at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Upper Sandusky.
Wilbie was born June 17, 1938, in Breeding, Kentucky, to Elbert and Anna Pearl (Traylor) Rowe, both of whom are deceased. He married Rose Ann Weaver on September 27, 1958, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salem Township, and she passed away January 22, 2018.
He is survived by three sons, David (Kelly) Rowe, Dale (Lori) Rowe, both of Upper
Sandusky, and Steven (Debbie) Rowe of Powell; as well as one daughter, Laurie
(Larry) Malone of Spring Hill, Florida. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Derek (Roshelle) Rowe, Allison (Andreas) Mueller, Hollie (Howie Lowden) Wheeler, Lucas (Megan) Rowe, Jacob Rowe, and Sydney Rowe, along with three stepgrandchildren, Joshua Malone, Cody (Brooke) Malone, and Savanna Malone; Nine great-grandchildren, Mallory, Jaclyn and Hayden Rowe, Aniela and Aleah Mueller, Kail, Holden, and Charlee Rowe and Fallyn and Silas Wheeler; as well as stepgreat-grandchildren, Chaney, Kells, and Emery Lowden and Maverick and Emery Malone.
Wilbie is also survived by a brother, William (Dody) Rowe of Upper Sandusky; and two sisters, Joann Hougendoubler and Linda (Jeff) Dobbs, both of Mesa, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rose Ann; three brothers, Leon, Gaylon, and John Rowe; and two sisters, Sue Kessler and Naomi Bower.
Wilbie was a 1956 graduate of Salem High School and went on to work for Dow Chemical in Findlay, retiring as a purchasing agent for Dow after 33 years.
He also served our country in the Army National Guard, having served in the guard for over 26 years and retiring as a Sergeant First Class.
Wilbie was a longtime member of Transfiguration of the Lord, where he helped out for many years with the St. Peter's Festival.
For hobbies, Wilbie enjoyed fishing, playing corn hole, mushroom hunting, cooking, and spending his winters in Leesburg, Florida, with Rose Ann.
Funeral Mass for Wilbie N. Rowe will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2025, at Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church, with the Rev. Savio Manavalan, OFM Conv., and Deacon Kevin Winterstellar officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, and military honors will be conducted by Upper Sandusky Color Guard.
Visitations will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, March 23, 2025, at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
