Virginia Mae Reinhard Schreiner
Virginia Mae (Cullison) Reinhard Schreiner, 94, of Fostoria, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria.
She was born May 20, 1931, in Hatton, Ohio, to the late Thomas S. and Emma J. (Edmonds) Cullison. She married James R. Reinhard June 11, 1952, and he died March 3, 1973. She then married Marion J. Schreiner August 6, 1976, and he died October 21, 2006.
She is survived by one son, Dennis J. (Cindy) Reinhard; six grandchildren, Dawn Locigno, Amanda (Damon) Smith, Meredith Breech, Deanna (Steve) Hart, Kyle Reinhard and Audra (Bob) Moore; 10 great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Cayla and Colin Locigno, Keely (Andrew) Loose, Blake Hoover, Dawson Smith, Kain Beaston, Alexis Hart and Ryan and Connor Moore; great-great grandson, Grayson Loose; and a special friend, Jean Lutes.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Douglas A. Reinhard; sister, Evelyn J. Cullison; infant brothers, Christopher and Robert Cullison; brothers, Thomas V. Cullison and Donald D. Cullison; and stepfather, Cecil Griffin.
Virginia moved to Risingsun at the age of 4, attended Risingsun School, where she graduated in 1949, and was a member of the cheerleader team. During her teenage years, she worked as a babysitter and at Mom's Lunch in Risingsun. After graduation, she became a bookkeeper for Fostoria Ice and Coal Company. She also worked at RCA in Findlay and Atlas Crankshaft in Fostoria. After she married Marion, she helped him on the farm and at the fertilizer plant warehouse as his bookkeeper for 30 years. Following his death, she moved to Fostoria.
Virginia loved to dance, play bingo, card games, and work puzzles. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and canning. She and Jim were members of Risingsun and Fostoria mixed doubles bowling leagues, as well as Fostoria Coffee Klatch Ladies Bowling League, at Dunn's Lanes. She had the honor of being the first ladies Ohio Buckeye Belle winner from Dunn's Lanes. Virginia was fond of gospel and country music, butterflies, angels, rainbows and most of all caring for her family.
She formerly belonged to United Methodist Church in Risingsun. When she married Marion in 1976, she joined the Catholic faith and attended church at St. Boniface, now All Saints Parish in New Riegel. She was a member of American Legion Post 354, New Riegel Moose Lodge and Rosary Altar Society of All Saints Parish.
Her motto in life was faith, family, friends, the Ten Commandments, and the Golden Rule. They were her guide throughout her life.
Visitation is 4-6 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2025, at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio 44830. Funeral service is 10 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Knollcrest Cemetery, Arcadia. Following the burial, a luncheon will take place in the funeral home's reception area.
