Virginia Bartlett Dale
Virginia Bartlett Dale passed from this life Saturday, Dec. 23, 2023, in Rochester Hills.
She was born Oct. 15, 1935, in Iola, Kansas, to Russell and Helen Bartlett. She married Max Dale on June 3, 1956, and he preceded her in death March 3, 2013, after 56 wonderful years of marriage.
Virginia is survived by her son, Russell (Teena) Dale of Auburn Hills, MI; grandchildren, Mitchell (Kelsey) Dale of Elmhurst, IL, Miles Dale of Denver, CO, Cara Todd of Walnut, CA, and Kyle Todd of
Washington, D.C.; and son-in-law, Craig Rentenberg of Ft. Mills, SC.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Annette Dale Rentenberg on Dec. 23, 2015.
Virginia graduated from University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She worked at KLWN radio station in Lawrence, Kansas, after graduation. She and her husband then moved to California in 1958 where she worked as a stenographer for North American Aviation in Downey. After moving to Fremont, she became a homemaker and worked part-time as a secretary for Alameda County Superintendent of Schools, and Freemont Unified School District.
Following her job transfer to
Ukiah, California, she worked as a secretary for The Letter Shop. She and Max then moved to Meridian, Mississippi, and Virginia worked as a secretary for Meridian Industrial Foundation, Greater Meridian Chamber of Commerce, and later at McDonald and McDonald CPA's.
While in Meridian, Virginia was initiated into the Meridian Junior Auxiliary and held five major chairmanships in six years, in addition to being secretary of the organization. At the First Christian Church in Meridian, she was women's program chairman, then president of Christian Women's Fellowship, a youth sponsor, and choir member for 11 years. Upon her husband's retirement, they moved to Anderson, South Carolina, where she co-owner of Cedric's Fish and Chips for two years and Vernon Todd Memorials and Elberton Monument Company from mid 1982-1999. She and Max moved to Findlay to be near their children and grandchildren.
In Findlay, she was a member of Bible Study Fellowship and Discussion Leader for five years. Virginia loved the lord, was active in church throughout her life, and was a member of Living Hope Church.
She has been a member of the Uvedale chapter of National Society Daughters of the American Revolution since 1991. In Rochester Hills, she led a bible class for residents in independent living, set up outside teachers to lead, and brought in volunteers from local church to provide Sunday services for shut-ins.
Virginia's celebration of life in Michigan will be 3-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024, at Potere-Modetz Funeral Home, 339 Walnut Blvd.,

Final visitation will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024, until the time of Virginia's funeral at 12 p.m. at Living Hope Church. Pastor Blair Hayward will officiate. Burial will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens Findlay.
